FAQ

What if my child has never coded before?

That's fine! we have cohorts of beginner only students, and we send an intro to Python course for students to work on before the program begins.

How big are classes?

How can you cover so many topics in just 30 hours?

5 students and 1 mentor. We'll have some bigger group meetings for guest lectures, but the majority of time will be spent with your cohort.

Rather than overemphasizing the mathematical details, we use analogies, real-life examples, and hands-on demos. This allows students to grasp new concepts quickly and then practice applying them right away

How's this different from other programming/AI classes?

Unlike many other programs that follow a formulaic approach focused on rote memorization of code syntax, our classes emphasize developing an AI problem-solving mindset. We focus on the big ideas, providing conceptual frameworks and tools to tackle complex problems. This problem-solving mindset is a lasting skill, rather than just memorizing code snippets that may quickly become outdated.

Who's teaching?

All our classes are taught by previous participants of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) who completed an advanced independent AI project. We believe this hands-on experience successfully solving real-world problems with AI is better qualification than simply completing a course or acing an exam. It demonstrates the instructor's proven ability to apply AI concepts, not just understand the theory.

Why not just take a free online AI course?

For some students, we do recommend taking an online course. However, there are key benefits to learning AI concepts through our live classes:

  • Interactive format with hands-on activities and immediate feedback

  • Ability to get all your questions answered in real time

  • Exclusive real-world case studies & projects

  • Guidance and mentorship from instructors with proven AI project experience

  • Opportunity to collaborate and learn alongside peers

What happens after the program ends?

After completing our AI bootcamp, we schedule 1-on-1 meetings with each parent and student to discuss personalized next steps. This bootcamp is just the first step in learning to apply AI to solve real-world problems. Many students continue their journey by enrolling in our Independent Research Project program to further develop and implement their AI skills.

We also provide a comprehensive list of other opportunities and activities tailored to each student's interests and goals, such as AI competitions, internships, research programs, and more advanced courses.

Will my child get enough support?

A key advantage of our program is that we're not a large, impersonal corporation. We are a group of college students who were all once in your shoes. If your child ever struggles or feels confused, we'd be happy to schedule a 1-on-1 meeting to help answer their questions.

We also have a Slack community where students can talk with each other and get questions answered at any time.

What computer & software do I need?

Any laptop/computer is fine, as we aren't running code locally on the machien. All our coding is done in Google Colab, which is awesome as it's a fully web-based IDE that runs on free Google computing power, as well as already coming installed with all the Python libraries we need. Colab also allows us to easily monitor and give feedback on student's code.
